Abbeville Wins South Carolina HS Football Class A Crown

The Abbeville Panthers won their first state football title since 1996 with a 42-13 win over Bamberg-Ehrhardt Friday in the Class A Division I title game.

The Panthers were led by Ashton Heard, who rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns.  Heard's teammate La'Quavas Watt ran for 167 yards as Abbeville totaled 426 yards as a team.

Scott's Branch HS Wins Another South Carolina Football Championship

Round 3 of Scott's Branch and Williston-Elko in the South Carolina Class A Division II championship game went to Scott's Branch.

The Eagles and Williston-Elko have met three straight years for South Carolina's smallest football classification title.  Friday Scott's Branch won its second title in three years with a  34-32 victory.

Traven Parker was Scott's Branch star accounting for 373 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.
